Yesterday, my friend and I decided to take a leisurely walk around Sloan’s Lake. As we strolled along, enjoying the peaceful surroundings, we noticed a dog on the opposite side of the lake suddenly take off at full speed, chasing a flock of geese. We watched with growing concern as the dog raced across the frozen surface of the lake. Deep down, we knew that the ice wouldn’t hold for long. Our hearts sank as our worst fears became a reality—the ice gave way, and the dog plunged into the freezing water. It began to struggle desperately, attempting to break the ice and reach safety. We felt helpless, unable to do anything but stand there, praying for a miracle. Realizing the dire situation, we quickly dialed 911, hoping that the emergency services would arrive in time to rescue the stranded dog.
